Brett Ringer Memorial Scholarship Information

Helping Students with Educational Expenses since 2001

Held in June, this tournament was established in 2001 by retired and beloved Rock Hill High Football Coach, Jim Ringer. Jim wanted to find a way to honor's his son's memory while helping others. The Brett Ringer Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament came to be!

"It has been a great joy to watch this tournament grow like it has, for as long as it has. It is wonderful to see Brett's memory living on through a tournament that has raised over $100,000 to help students around South Carolina with their school expenses. Everyone who has volunteered, donated money, sponsored, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  “We wanted to honor his memory with something worthwhile, by helping other kids, Thank you- Jim Ringer!"

 ​On its 17th year, the tournament raises money each year through teams, individuals who register to play in the tournament, through the hole sponsors, silent auction items, and through our presenting sponsor, Hospitality Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. The monies raised is divided equally to the selected recipients from each the Rock Hill High Schools, and then to students from around the state of South Carolina.  

HOW THE SCHOLARSHIP WORKS: Applications are gathered from the three Rock Hill area High Schools, Northwestern, Rock Hill, and South Pointe. Then students are chosen from around South Carolina.  The committee is then tasked with choosing deserving students and money raised from this tournament helps those students with books and college expenses.  

Tournament Information

Shotgun Start set for 9am In June 21st, 2018

Every June at Pinetuck Golf Course, located in Rock Hill South Carolina, you can count on two things: 

  1. Carolina Sun 
  2. The Annual Brett Ringer Golf Tournament. 


  • When: Thursday, June 21, 2018
  • Where: Pinetuck Golf Course located at 2578 Tuckaway Rd. Rock Hill, SC
  • Format and Time: Captain's Choice with a Shotgun Start Time of 9 AM
  • Lunch: Included in your Cost
  • Cost: Individuals typically $60 or $240 per team
  • Payments: Players, your payments can be made the day of the Tournament but Please go ahead and Register beforehand.  ALL Checks (Players and Sponsors) can be made out to the Brett Ringer Memorial Fund

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction begins as soon as you arrive!

Clemson and Gamecock memorabilia, College and NFL signed Helmets, Posters, T-shirts, Golf Clubs, Balls, and  Bags, Fishing Gear, Yeti Coolers, Cups, and Bags. One year we even auctioned away a handgun. So many things to bid on to see if you can win! 

Winners are announced shortly after everyone is finished with their lunch!

Easy forms of payment are cash, check and credit cards.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

Pinetuck Golf Course is a 18 Hole Course. We have 18 Hole Sponsorship's available. Your Name will appear on a sign at the a hole on the course.

Hole Sponsorship:

  • $100 per hole

 We also have opportunities to help sponsor the lunch for the players.
